E. L. Menk Jewelers is located on the corner of 7th and Laurel Street with the entrance door opening directly onto the corner. The store features six stained glass display windows and a stained glass transom above the front door. Inside the store you will find more stained glass art work including a chandelier and a large antique wall clock that dates to the 1920’s.
The Parker Building is the formal name of the three story glazed red brick building on the corner of 7th and Laurel Streets in the heart of downtown Brainerd. Some have described the building as one of the most beautiful buildings in Brainerd and I would have to agree. It has had an interesting past since being built in 1909 for several high profile renters. They included the Citizen’s State Bank, the Elks, the Stallman Barber shop, and the Ryan Law Firm. At the time the building was built, the corner was the center of the business world for a sixty mile radius.
